加速度的に進化を続ける建築情報技術。リアルとヴァーチャルの境界が消えていく感覚すらある昨今、建築に携わる私たちはどこに向かって歩みを進めるのでしょうか。DXへの対応、SDGsへの貢献、情報戦略、デジタルと実世界のつながり方、人とコンピュータの役割分担など、どのように考え、取り組んでいくべきでしょうか。
本セッションでは、戦禍で揺れる欧州でいち早く難民支援に動いた建築家・坂茂氏をお招きします。坂氏が、どのような考えのもとで作品づくりや社会貢献活動を長年推進されているのか、伺います。
建築情報技術が物理的な環境だけでなく人間の生き方にまで関与していくことを念頭におき、建築意匠、都市計画、システムデザインなどの分野を横断しながら、教育や人材育成をどのように進めていくべきかについても議論します。

[講演者]
坂茂「作品づくりと社会貢献の両立を目指して」
[概要] これまでの作品の紹介やその時に考えたこと、および20年以上取り組んでいる災害支援活動について講演します。
[略歴] 1957年東京生まれ。77-80年、南カリフォルニア建築大学（SCI-Arc）在学。84年クーパー・ユニオン建築学部（ニューヨーク）を卒業。82-83年、磯崎新アトリエに勤務。85年、坂茂建築設計を設立。
95年から国連難民高等弁務官事務所（UNHCR）コンサルタント、同時に災害支援活動団体ボランタリー・アーキテクツ・ネットワーク (VAN）設立。主な作品に、「ポンピドー・センター・メス」、「静岡県富士山世界遺産センター」、「大分県立美術館」、「ラ・セーヌ・ミュジカル」、「オメガ・スウォッチ本社」などがある。
これまでに、フランス建築アカデミーゴールドメダル(2004)、日本建築学会賞作品部門（2009）、フランス国家功労勲章オフィシエ(2010)、オーギュスト・ペレ賞（2011）、芸術選奨文化部科学大臣賞（2012）、フランス芸術文化勲章コマンドゥール（2014）、プリツカー建築賞（2014）、JIA日本建築大賞（2015）、紫綬褒章(2017)、マザー・テレサ社会正義賞(2017)、 アストゥリアス皇太子賞（2022）など受賞。現在New European Bauhausのhigh-level roundtableメンバー、慶応義塾大学環境情報学部教授。
Keynote Session 1: Considering the Era of Architectural DX
Building information technology continues to evolve at an accelerating pace. How should we think about and tackle digital transformation (DX), contribution to SDGs, information strategy, how to connect the digital and real worlds, and the division of roles between people and computers? How should we think about and tackle these issues?
In this session, we invite Mr. Shigeru Ban, an architect who was one of the first to support refugees in war-torn Europe. Mr. Ban will share his thoughts on how he has been promoting his artwork and social contribution activities over the years.
Keeping in mind that architectural information technology will be involved not only in the physical environment but also in the way people live, we will also discuss how education and human resource development should be promoted across the fields of architectural design, urban planning, system design, and others.

Shigeru Ban (Architect) “Balancing Work and Social Responsibilities”
[Short bio] Born in Tokyo in 1957. Graduated from the Cooper Union. Started working for Arata Isozaki & Associates in 1982. Founded Shigeru Ban Architects in 1985.
Became consultant to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 1995. Established the NGO, Voluntary Architects’ Network (VAN) in the same year to support disaster relief. Selected works include Centre Pompidou- Metz, Oita Prefecture Art Museum, Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre, Shizuoka, Musical Complex of La Seine Musicale, and Swatch Omega Headquarters.
Recipient of multiple awards, including Grande Médaille d’or de l’Académie d’architecture, France (2004), Grand Prize of AIJ (2009) , le grade d’officier for L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, France (2010), Auguste Perret Prize (2011), Art Prize from the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs (2012), le grade de commandeur for L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, France (2014), Pritzker Architecture Prize (2014), Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon, Japan (2017) , Mother Teresa Social Justice Award (2017) and Princess of Asturias Award for Concord (2022). An ambassador among “distinguished thinkers and practitioners” for the New European Bauhaus high-level roundtable (2021). Currently Professor at Keio University.
